Cimorelli: Hearts On Fire - Mixtape Review

Well what we didn't expect was Cimorelli to release their mixtape just 24 hours after announcing the actually mixtape. What I thought was that we would wait the full seven days and then at the very last minute they would drop it on us. But they where obviously too excited and wanted us to hear it straight away, which I am glad that they did.

It's been 5 days since the mixtape was released and I didn't want to do a review straight away because I wanted to give myself time to listen to all the songs and really take in the meanings and listen to the lyrics before I gave you my honest review. This blog post may be a little bit longer than usual so go grab a cup of hot chocolate and get comfy.

Hearts On Fire consisted of 9 originals songs written by Cimoreli, some we had heard before because they where performed on tour and other were brand new to our ears. The songs included in the mixtape are as follows;

- Hearts On Fire
- Im A Mess
- Before Octobers Gone
- I Like It
- Move On
- Good Enough
- Unsaid Things
- A Lot Like Love
- Someone To Chase

Each song was acoustic, but not like you would expect a normal acoustic version of a song to be. This was something different, there was something to these acoustic versions that made them very unique and catchy. It wasn't just a guitar and Cimorelli singing, it had so many different levels to it that I can't even explain.

All the songs on this mixtape had a deep and personal meaning to at least one of the sisters. We don't know who but you can tell they all related to their own music because when performing the songs on stage in Europe at least one of them would cry during each song. We all now how hard it is to write from the heart and to tell one person how you feel, never mind channelling that into a song for hundreds of thousands of people to head. I think that these sisters have been incredible strong to bring out such an emotional mixtape that is so personal to them.

As well as this, no song has the same meaning. All have come from a different story of different experience that one of the Cimorelli sisters have gone through, some being more negative than others. But no matter how deep and emotional the songs got you would never feel uncomfortable listening to them because of the emotion. Personally I got a feeling of comfort when listening to a few of their songs knowing that I wasn't alone and I think that I speak for a few people when I say this.

Although some songs did get very emotional for all the bad reasons (heartbreak, loneliness), some of the music had such a fun up-beat tune to it and really focused on some of the positive things, which I really liked as the mixtape had a balance of the two types of songs.

Personally my favourite song was I Like It, because this was fun and I really loved the chorus, it just made me feel so alive and fresh. But on the other hand I felt like I could relate to Good Enough in a very personal way! A lot of you will know that if you follow me on Twitter of have read some of my previous blog posts.

Overall I thought that this mixtape was an incredible way to share so many emotions and feeling from Cimorelli, and because it was free it meant that anyone in the world could listen to their music. Which is why Cimorelli are trying to push on the promotion side of the mixtape. We know that this isn't for the money side of things because they are going to make no money at all from this mixtape, they genuinely just want people to have music that they can relate to or listen to in that time of need.

You can download the mixtape for free here: http://t.co/4iS5QrlWJo and make sure to tweet about it when you have finished downloading!

Cimorelli have posted multiple different ways of promoting their new mixtape, Hearts On Fire, online and offline. The sisters posted a Tumblr post with a list of different ways to promote the music which I will link here:

http://t.co/T7BBNR0m10

Some of these ways are harder than other such as starting a street team or passing out CD's, but some are so easy you can do it with your eyes closed! Like putting up posters, tweeting people who are looking for new music, or even just sending the link to your friends.

A few days ago I went round Brimingham with a friend from Twitter with 25 CD's wit the mixtape burnt onto them and we hid them in so many different places such as lifts, books, promotion stands and it was one of the best feelings every when we saw people walking out of lifts with the CD's that we had earlier put in there. So it can be rewarding when promoting Cimorelli, you just have to find the way that is best for you.

Before I finis this blog post I have made up a poll to the side of this blog where you can pick what your favourite song was from the mixtape. The song that get the most votes I will create a fa lyric video for through Twitter/ my Blog. So make sure you vote for your favourite!

Cimorelli Livestream - 21/05/2015

Finally after a week of waiting Cimorelli finally went live around the world at 10pm, UK time. After a bit of trouble getting it started, first with the power going out in their home, which meant no Internet and no electricity, then the original site USTREAM not working for them, Cimorelli finally got sorted on a Google Hangout. This was better as people who slept through the livestream would get to see the livestream on YouTube the next day because when they where finished the video would be uploaded to YouTube.

In this livestream Christina took the lead in saying what she though about the music industry, although many of  the girls did not get a say in I do think that this is something they all agree with as a band and Christina has the strongest opinion on the topic,

They continued on to tell us things that some bands wouldn't even dare to say to their own family, honestly I agreed with every word that was said during the livestream and it was something that these girls really did need to get of their chest. They even spoke about delicate topics such as fans saying hurtful things, most celebrities wouldn't want to loose their fanbase and would never dare say anything bad.

But it is all true, there are people online who are fans of the girls who still criticise little things the girls do because they are not reforming to the industry and following there rules. But Cimorelli had a point, who are you to judge, it's their option not yours.

I am glad that the girls got to be so open with us and tell us everything that was on their mind because I think it was something that needed to be said and who else was going to do it? They explained why they don't do certain things like go to events and appear at shows and it really allowed us to get to know these sisters a whole lot more.

I as a fan have always been supportive of what they do and who am I to step in and stop them, if I had a different opinion about something they where doing I would never dream of tweeting them or DMing them because I know that it was their choice so obviously it was something they must be happy with.

Cimorelli really opened up thousands of eyes to how the music industry works and I think that this small livestream is going to spread like wildfire with not just fans reacting and agreeing but other upcoming artists who realise that they do not want to follow the way of the music industry. Something small can make a big impact if you work hard enough.

Now lets get onto the exciting part of the livestream. NEW MUSIC! Yes Cimorelli have announced that sometime in the next week they will be uploading a mix-tape, Hearts On Fire, to the Internet with 9 brand new original songs on. For those who don't know what a mix-tape is, it is something that you can download FOR FREE online anywhere around the world.

Yes you heard correct FREE. The date has not confirmed as Christina is working incredible hard to get all the last bits finalised but I am sure as soon as the mix-tape is released (with artwork) they will be tweeting about it! So make sure to follow them on Twitter: @CimorelliBand

I could tell you so much more about this livestream in detail but that would take too long, luckily the livestream is available on YouTube and if you have a couple of hours to spare then do sit down and listen to what they have to say because it really is worth listening to.

Are you excited for Cimorellis new mix-tape? What songs do you want to be on there? They gave hints of new songs such as Hearts On Fire but also gave us a preview of I'm A Mess which they performed on tour. When the mix-tape is released I will have a full review of each of the songs on my blog as soon as I can!

Cimorelli - Bad Blood (ft. The Johnsons) - Cover Review

The second cover Cimorelli recorded with popular band The Johnsons was Bad Blood, originally sung by Taylor Swift. I am going to put it out there now with my honest opinion, I did not like the cover as much as I liked some of their previous covers. I don't know whether it was the song or something else but I didn't feel the same 'buzz' that I feel with other covers that they upload.

The video seemed full of everyone just messing around and being silly, now I am not criticizing them for that because it shows each individual sister for who they are and it could be see that they had a lot of fun recording. One small thing that annoyed me throughout the whole video was the little effect over the video to make it look like a live recording.

This constantly took my attention away and I knew it was always there. As well as this, I was not a huge fan of the spotlights in the background. This added a fun effect but again I though it took my eye away from the girls and did give me a little bit of a headache. One last thing that I did not like about this video was that in some shots you could see the other girls standing around on the side of the Camera, this made it look very organised and like they didn't know what they where doing.

Other than that I thought the girls sung amazing in what they had to sing and although I have never heard or seen The Johnsons before their last cover of 'See You Again' I think that they do, also have incredible voices. Each sister sung their individual parts with incredible talents and I really did love the vocals.

I know this review was kind of negative, but it was my honest opinion. I am still a huge fan of the girls and support them in every way that I can but I don't think that this was one of their best covers. But as long as they had fun and showed the viewers what incredible voices they have then I think that, that is all that matters.

Cimorelli Merchandise

Cimorelli have had official merchandise on sale now for quite some time. They have gone from a small shop of just t-shirts and hoodies to one of the biggest merchandise shops I have seen. With items ranging from; water bottles and pillow cases, to beach towels and umbrellas, what ever you need you should be able to find it on their website.

Not only have their items in the shop grown their shipping availability has also, starting from just shopping to around the USA, Cimorelli now allow fans from all over the world to buy there items as they have separate shops for those in the EU and the UK, proving just how popular their merchandise is.

Personally I have never bought anything from the store but online I have been lucky enough to win some items online, including a Cimorelli Beanie. I have to admit when I received the package the beanie was in brilliant condition and the writing along the top of the beanie has still not even cracked. I do admit that I haven't worn my beanie all that much because I don't suite hats, but it has had it's fair share of wear and tear in and around my bedroom. So I can easily say it will last though anything.

Cimorelli sell there merchandise through a website called Spread Shirt, this is a company who basically make the items for Cimorelli and sell them for them without Cimorelli having to worry. Spread Shirt also gives you the option on their official page (not Cimorelli's) to create your own t-shirts. This does cost considerably more as Cimorelli's Merchandise is created in bulk amounts and will be a lot cheaper to produce.

Finally their official site does have regular sales or offers on such as 'free shipping' or 'buy on get one free'. But these are not always posted on Twitter by the girls so make sure you keep checking up on the website to get your offers and discounts!

To get yourselves some official Cimorelli Merchandise then follow the links bellow:

Now after months of waiting Cimorelli have finally released their tour merchandise online to those who did not get the chance to buy it on tour or didn't see the girls on tour. For me this is something that I have been so excited about as I wanted the black Renegade top so bad.

The t-shirts are limited to the amount they have so if you do not have the one that you want yet then you better order them soon before they are all gone! These tops are available on the awesomeness TV website as Awesomeness TV where a huge part of their tour. The prices of the tops have increased slightly as the original top in the UK was £10 but is not £13.99 and with postage costs £19.99. But I think that it is worth it for something that you love!

Nothing has been mentioned about this merchandise being sold on their upcoming South American tour, although it may seem likely it is not yet official. So if you want one you best get them now!
