Recently Cimorelli uploaded their latest cover video which happened to be 'Heart Attack' originally sung by Demi Lovato, the cover was recorded in front of a plain white wall which is where most of their covers are filmed. As usual Amy played guitar during the song which added tone rather than the girls just snapping their fingers.
As per usual the girls harmonise almost perfectly throughout the whole song, I think it helps the fact they are all sisters an have been practising since a young age. The girls all have their own solo verse which lets them show of their individuality. Their timing was great throughout the whole video, almost like it had taken a few tries, which we know it did.
Although their harmonies where almost perfect and they had their own solo I do think that to improve the strength of the video all six girls should have more than a few lines singing together. Singing together as one group shows their audience what they can really do and can impress a lot of people. Other than that I found the video fun to watch and I didn't get bored half way through and turn off.
I feel that outfits are a key in cover videos, because the song isn't originally theirs so it doesn't relate to them but their outfits can indicate their individuality. Christina, dressed in casual green top and a plain black skirt, shows her leadership as she wants to look like the mature one. Katherine dressed in a floral vest top shows her feminine side, unfortunately I cannot see Katherines bottoms through the video. Lisa, dressed in what looks like a leopard dress, shows of the fact she wants to be unique. Amys outfit is covered by her guitar but from what I can see she is dressed in a sort of 'tom boy' vest top. Lauren also tries to be unique by wearing a black and white chequered top underneath a blue jumper covered with crystals. Dani, dressed in a black top and a pink puffy skirt, shows her childish side.
At the end of the video Katherine explains how she was involved in a horrific accident when her car broke down at the side of the road. I think that the benefit concert is a great idea to raise money for the family who unfortunately lost their husband/ father. I myself will be donating to the cause even though I cannot be at the actual concert.
I hope you have enjoyed my first blog and there will be many more to come in the future.
Stay Strong <3
