Wrecking Ball - Video Review

Well how do I start this, WOW. The girls cover of Cimorelli, Wrecking Ball really did blow me away. I am not a massive fan or Miley Cyrus and had never listened to her original song but I think that Cimorelli's cover really put that song into the positive side of my mind. I am one to judge songs very quickly and I instantly likes this song.

You can see the emotion put into this song, it is like every girl has something hidden away in the back of their mind that angers them and filming this video gave them that chance to let all that anger and emotion out. I don't even think Miley had put that amount of emotion into her music video. Not one sister is dressed up or has lots of make up on, I think that this is very important because this shows us that they have enough confidence to be themselves, but it could also suggest that this one person who has walked away has brought them to their lowest low.

Throughout the video we see 4 out of the 6 girls make a destructive movement on something that use to mean a lot to them. The first one we see is Christina, she kicks over a vase of beautiful flower, then we see Lauren throw a plate to the ground, then Lisa smash a picture frame with a hammer and finally Katherine rip several pages out of her book. This shows the anger that each girl feels.I think the only fault for this video was that we don't see Dani and Amy destroy anything, if we where to see all the girls destroy something then this would create more of an effect that all the girls are angered.

Also in their video we see the girls with tears in their eyes, but they look as if they are holding that back. This could show us that they are going through a lot of pain but are not showing that to those around them. Also this shows us that the girls are incredible actresses, and know what they are doing.

I think that the girls voices sound perfect for this song, the right tone and they hit the right notes too, it just sounded amazing. This song I think would be one that would sound amazing sung live instead of pre-recorded to the girls could really show of their talent. One of the most powerful part of this song has to be Lisa's solo near the end, the power of her voice really made me feel the emotion, officially one of the most powerful solo's Lisa has performed on the girls covers. I have found myself watching this video on a daily basis and listening the the cover on my iPod when I am in bed.

Overall I loved this video and I know that this isn't what the girls where thinking but this is what the video can say about anyone who took part in it. I am proud of the girls and how talented they are and how far they have come and who knows what will come next. Hope you enjoyed this post. Bye.
