Cimorelli Nominated For TCA

This years Cimorelli have been nominated for a Teen Choice Award for the 4th year running but this year wasn't the typical Web Star nomination. Cimorelli have been nominated for Female Music Group along with other groups like Fifth Harmony and Little Mix, making this kind of a big deal.

When this was first released yesterday it caused more than a little bit of drama throughout the fandom on whether they should vote for Cimorelli or not. I was right in the middle of this argument and it wasn't all that fun.

Those on the side of 'we shouldn't vote' took it back to the Livestream where Christina was talking about how all these things are rigged and it isn't worth voting for them. Which I completely understand and agree with. But some fans where taking it to far, as far as telling people what to do in an aggressive and undermining way that was incredibly uncomfortable.

It was suggested that by voting we where going against everything that the girls believed in about the music industry and that we where just wasting out time.

A picture went around about Lisa has messaged a fan saying she would rather us put all the effort we would put into voting into promoting Hearts On Fire. Which is something I can completely agree on and that we should be promoting the mixtape instead of spending 8 hours a day tweeting or voting for Cimorelli to win.

But some fans took it too far, I recieved some comments such as 'What a mess' and 'Are you stupid' just by tweeting saying even though the voting was rigged it wouldn't stop me from voting for Cimorelli because I was proud. Which is something that I am open to do by my own choice, not by others.

Everyone has their own right to vote, if you want to then great go ahead but if you don't then that's fine but don't undermine people and make them feeling like they are doing wrong because they are not. It is completely up to the individual weather they are to vote for Cimorelli or not.

I personally will be voting because that is my choice but I wont be sitting their like a voting robot 8 hours a day voting for them because that would not be worth it, I will be spending that time promoting Hearts On Fire instead. I will just be voting a couple of times in the morning and evening when I am on my phone.

Lauren also messaged another fan on Twitter saying if we did want to vote then we can, so if you want to vote for Cimorelli in the Teen Choice awards then don't let anyone stop you or tell you otherwise. You are not going against Cimorelli, it isn't disrespectful, this is personal preference that only you can choose.

I am incredibly proud to see Cimorelli nominated for an award outside of the web categories and it shows that they are starting to make an impact and be seen around the world. This is a great opportunity because they are able to share their thoughts and their music with an even wider audience!
